This page in a nutshell: Settle a dispute/disagreement with Civility and Kindness, Not Anger. |
When Editing Wikipedia most users will come across or end up in Disputes. Doing so, a user must stay cool and take it easy, otherwise a Block may be imposed[1] on the user(s). If you happen to be or come across a dispute, the best way to deal with it, is to take a short break from Wikipedia, and take things calmly and easy. Sometimes in a dispute or an disagreement, a user may even say "Fuck you" or "Fuck off". These actions are considered to be Personal Attacks and also incivility, and will increase the chances of a block. While staying calm in such situations can be hard or challenging, it is necessary in all ways to reduce the chances of being blocked, and in the long run, will earn you a good reputation, then a user who is not civil or calm.
Many dispute are settled on The Administrators Noticeboard/Incidents[2], if you were involved in a dispute, you may get a notification on your talk page of the dispute listed on ANI.
