Wrong article name - deletion or redirecting?[edit]I actually have a question. Im working on another article at the moment. Its a biography. The article already exists, but its just a stub. The name of the article is not wrong but not well chosen. The second forename is missing, and if I type in the full name, Im redirected on this other site. Is it possible to delete the stub-article or to reverse the redirecting? --Rectilinium (talk) 00:00, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

New article[edit]Hello mentor :)... Im actually still writing a new article about Jacob Aaron Westervelt, but it takes so much time to finish it, that I decided to take a break and write something else. Now I wrote an article about Robert Kermits Red Star Line. But as I didn't sleep for about 3 days and 2 nights Im a bit confused at the moment. I have no idea if the article is ok. Could you have a look and edit it? That would be great... With kind regards --Rectilinium (talk) 11:10, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Okay, sop the main problem is the citations need to be fixed. I will work on that. You may also want a Wikipedia citation tool.--The New Mikemoral ♪♫ 00:07, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
User page[edit]Now some general questions ;)... Can you tell me how you made your special sigs? I'ld like to try to make one too. And I saw, that you have a section for awards. May I copy the code, so that I can make such an award-section on my user-page too? Kind regards--Rectilinium (talk) 23:40, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

- I use Internet Explorer, as I had huge problems with Mozilla Firefox. Why?--Rectilinium'♥' 15:13, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi :)... I had the latest version of Firefox, but I finally deinstalled it. Whenever I install Firefox it also implements a Google Toolbar (during the installation I have no possibility to choose if I want it or not, and I can not deactivate the Toolbar - I have no idea why this is). Now if Firefox is on my computer the Google Toolbar Updater is trying to make an update every 12 Seconds (even if I have the most recent version), and therefore uses 100% of my computers performance (my computer is not very new, but the performance normally is ok, even if Im working with several huge programs at the same time - like photoshop, blender, Python, Internet Explorer - and when a Web-TV runs). So Firefox makes my computer very slow. I talked to several friends of mine (computer scientists) and they had no idea why this happens. They said, that I have two possibilities: to reformat my system harddrive and to reinstall all my software again... :O (!!)..., or to uninstall Firefox and work with something else. So I decided to continue to work with Internet Explorer.
- Oh... one more thing... Ild like to ask you for a favour, but please, please dont be angry! Im really very glad, that you help me to edit my articles. But there is one thing... please dont make any edits, as long as I have not finished an article, and as long as I didnt ask you to edit it (like then when you copied my unfinished article from my Sandbox to the Jacob Westervelt article... even if I didnt ask you to do so). This incident actually was the reason why I opened the new Milamitu account (to be able to work quietly until I have finished the article). I mostly work for hours, before I safe recent changes. Now you added this markup during such a (very long) period, and when I finally tried to safe my changes I got a session-error message and IE hang up... I lost all my edits. Now this was quite painful. I would be very glad, if you could continue to help me whenever I have a problem or a question (because you really are a good mentor) but please dont make any changes in my Sandboxes as long as I didnt ask you do so. If you are watching my steps on Wikipedia, and if you see that I make mistakes and you want to inform me, then I prefer that you leave a message on my talk page or on our mentor-page. This would help me a lot. Thanks, your mentee--Rectilinium'♥' 07:36, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I am very sorry. That is something I truly hate happening. A little trick I have learned is before a major edit like that, copy the text (all of it), and save. If that happens,then you paste the text. Yay, free insurance :)! Also please consider adding the sockpuppet tag, here. ({{User Alternate Acct}}) --The New Mikemoral ♪♫ 04:32, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. I didnt know that there is such tag. Thanks for telling me. I'll be inserting it today.
- Concerning the "insurance". I allready started to copy the text when this happened yesterday... but anyhow, please dont edit my Sandbox, until I didnt ask you to do so. I'ld like to finish an article before someone else starts to make edits. Ok then... have a great holiday.--Rectilinium'♥' 05:41, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Really, I do suggest adding the {{relist|2}} tag. --MikemoralSock (talk) 02:18, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- I didnt delete the reflist|2 tag intentionally. That happened when copy/pasting an old version of the article. --Rectilinium'♥' 04:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
(<--) No, that is not what I mean. I am simply saying you should add it to the page. What it does is it, in select browser (I am not sure which) it makes two columns of refs/notes, rather than a very long list. --MikemoralSock (talk) 05:32, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ah ok. In IE it still makes a long list (and I dont mind that it does - I even prefer it). Is it a problem, when I use both the old ref-markup as well as the new citation-tool within the same article? Within my new Westervelt-article (that I finally finished) I have 65 references/notes and I used both Wiki markups. Is that a problem?--Rectilinium'♥' 08:18, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- By the way, as you are on holliday, I also asked another user, if he could look over my article (because I dont want to disturb your vacation). But of course you may edit it now, if you want. But please DONT move the article from my Sandbox to the page Jacob Aaron Westervelt. I actually want to edit the article before I move it to the public space myself, as I try to avoid, that a copyedit-tag is added to the article. In such cases too many people "put in their two cents", and I already experienced, that this doesnt increase the quality of an article at all. After almost 150 hours of work that I invested in this article, I prefer, that a few people who are really good editors work on it, and when its finally edited I will move it to the public space.--Rectilinium'♥' 12:32, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- I will take a look at a little later. When I return, I will give you another award for your very great efforts (150 hrs. wow!). --MikemoralSock (talk) 17:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- My brother said that Im nuts, because I spent so many hours for this article. But most of the time I used for the research (as it is not easy to find informations about Westervelt). And as it is difficult to write articles in a foreign language this also takes much more time then when you write it in your mother tongue. Honestly... I have had my fill of it ;) --Rectilinium'♥' 19:32, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

- Sounds interesting... I actually dont know much about Heinrich I. (Ostfrankenreich) and the medieval church is not my field of expertise either ;)... [edit]Hi. I have a new question. In my article Jacob Aaron Westervelt I used four templates Template:Clipper ships, Template:PreConsolidationNYCMayors, Template:Ships built by Westervelt & Co. and Template:Song about the Margaret Evans. You surely know that kind of templates, where you can click the "show"-link and then some kind of window is opened. Do you know if there is a Wiki-help page that explains the usage of these templates? I actually try to find out, if there is a strict rule where these templates have to be placed (always at the end of an article, or can they be somewhere else too)? --Rectilinium'♥' 00:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi there. There are no strict rules on Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:Ignore all rules. If your idea makes the project better, go for it. Plenty of articles have found that collapsed tables are useful to make an article more readable.
- It's real easy to make things hidden; for example, if you put;
- {{hidden|Buddhism Open Tasks|{{BuddhismOpenTask}}}}
- You get;
- I don't know of any specific help files about this; the best thing to do is to experiment in your user area - for example, create user:Rectilinium/test and play with it there.
- If you do need help, feel free to ask me on my talk page or, even better, talk to us live.
- Note, further discussion about this is ongoing, in User talk:Chzz#Templates. Chzz ► 16:28, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
