A BRIEF PROFILE ON RICH MONDAY

Rich Monday grew up skateboarding, dating back as far as 1975 at 8 years old. In 1977 Rich skateboarded at 'The Heat Wave Skate Park' in Modesto, California. The local skate park was Rich Mondays home away from home, having skated the park everyday until it's closure. Rich Monday then joined a local skate clique call 'The Rumble Pool Crew' and built many lasting friendships with other skateboard enthusiast from Modesto. Early in the 1980's, Rich Monday had a backyard half pipe skateboard ramp built that hosted friends and traveling skateboarders often visited Monday's ramp in the Modesto, Central Valley area.

For the next 10 year up until 1993 Rich Monday traveled as a amateur skateboarder from town to town, visiting and competing in a range of skate events and demonstrations state wide. Monday and friends often skated famous ramps like Joes's ramp in San Leandro and at The Ark in Fresno, California. Rich Monday won his first contest at an amateur event in Fresno, California and later skated in an NSA contest called the Pow Wow at the Powell Skate Zone Park in 1992. Some of Rich Monday sponsors were the Santa Cruz Board Shop, Valley Sporting Goods and Hales Frame Galley. Rich Monday joined the 'National Skateboard Association' (NSA) in 1985 and continued to pursue a skateboarding career as a professional vertical skater.

In the mid 1990's, Rich Monday took a job as a traveling demo skater with the 'Van Doren' skate team, doing demonstration from town to town, through out California. The job consisted of traveling abroad, setting up a portable skateboard half pipe ramp and doing demonstrations at fairs, parks, skateboard shops and sporting goods stores, state wide.

Rich Monday was married in 1990 to his wife Melody and they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2015.

Rich Monday received his optical optician license and worked as a operations lab manager at 'Lenscrafters', as well as a worked as a quality control manager and production technician over a 16 year period.

Rich Monday holds a patent on a protective golf apparel product called 'The Clydesdale's' and after pursuing venture capitalism, the product never made it to production, because of corporate business conflicts.

Richard has written and publish two books about California living and writes a popular underground zine titled 'The STAMINA Zine Series'.

Rich Monday works from at home as a freelance writer, small press publisher and part time skateboard managing agent. Monday is in a punk rock band known as "Fight or Fuck" and still can be found skating and surfing, now in his mid 40's.
