The article that I am critiquing is about the Information access. The article being on a stub category means that it needs a lot of work according to Wikipedia. The definition of the information access in the article has no reference and it seems like it is just a made up statement by the author. The article has no references which indicates that it is not a reliable information. There are some information in the article that seems to have little or no relevance to the article topic which makes it even more confusing to the reader. Also, considering that the article does not have any sources, one can conclude that everything that is on the page is only based on the author's view. The viewpoints are very confusing and it seems like just a bunch of random information. There are some external links included in the page that are not working and there are some links that does not have anything to do with the article. The page itself has a statement that says not to be confused with "Access to Information" which leads to a page about the Freedom of Information laws but there is one external link in the page that is about the Freedom of Information Act and Access Laws which is the same topic that is discussed on the Access to Information page. Having the page telling the readers not to be confused with something else means that the two pages are totally different. It seems like the author just randomly took some links and post them on the page. If the author believes that the article is different from the Freedom of Information, he/she should have defined or included something about the boundary between the two articles so that the readers won't be confused. Also, removing the external links that has nothing to do with the article would help as well.
Another thing, I tried searching the web about Information access and it is the first thing that comes up in the search results. This can be very bad considering that the page does not contain real information about information access. I did not find anything about information access being an area of research as defined by the author of the page. The other websites that I think are much reliable than the Wikipedia article have a totally different definition of Information access. I think Wikipedia should not allow any article to have no sources even if the article is in a stub category. At least if there are some sources in the page, people in the community would be able to review the article better.
Edits:
For the week 3 assignment, I deleted the definition of Information access and change it to the definition that I get from Encyclopedia.com. I also deleted the external links on the page that are not working.
