This is a list of English football clubs currently in the Premier League, the Football League or the National League System created by the merging of two or more clubs.
Pre-1939
[edit]- Newcastle United F.C. created by the merger of Newcastle West End F.C. and Newcastle East End F.C. in 1892.
- Watford F.C. created by the merger of West Hertfordshire and Watford St Mary's in 1898.
- Kingstonian F.C. created by the merger of Kingston-on-Thames F.C. and Old Kingstonians F.C. in 1919[1].
- Maidenhead United F.C. created as Maidenhead Town F.C. by the merger of Maidenhead F.C. and Maidenhead Norfolkian F.C. in 1919 before changing its name to Maidenhead United in 1920.
- Torquay United F.C. created by the merger of Torquay Town F.C. and Babbacombe F.C. in 1921. Torquay Town F.C. was itself created by the merger of the original Torquay United F.C. and Ellacombe F.C. in 1910.
- Hastings United F.C. created as Hastings & St. Leonards Amateurs F.C. by the merger of Rock-a-Nore F.C. and All Saints F.C. in 1921. The club changed its name to Hastings Town F.C. in 1979 and to Hastings United in 1985.
- Rotherham United F.C. created by the merger of Rotherham County F.C. and Rotherham Town F.C. in 1925.
- Whitby Town F.C. created as Whitby United by the merger of Whitby Whitehall Swifts F.C. and an earlier Whitby Town F.C. in 1926. It changed its name to Whitby Town in 1949.
- Tooting & Mitcham F.C. created by the merger of Tooting Town F.C. and Mitcham Wanderers F.C. in 1932.
- Lowestoft Town F.C. absorbed Kirkley & Waveney F.C. in 1935. Prior to 1890, Lowestoft Town F.C. was known as Lowestoft F.C., and was itself created by the merger of East Suffolk F.C. and the original Kirkley F.C. in 1887. Kirkley & Waveney F.C. was also created by a merger, between the third incarnation of Kirkley F.C. and Waveney Athletic F.C. in 1929.
- Corinthian-Casuals F.C. created by the merger of Corinthian F.C. and Casuals F.C. in 1939.
1945 to 1990
[edit]- Midhurst & Easebourne F.C. created by the merger of Midhurst F.C. and Easebourne F.C. in 1945[2].
- Walton & Hersham F.C. created by the merger of Walton F.C. and Hersham F.C. in 1945.
- Fareham Town F.C. created by the merger of Fareham Brotherhood, Fareham F.C. and Fareham Youth in 1946[3].
- Ebbsfleet United F.C. created as Gravesend & Northfleet by the merger of Gravesend United F.C. and Northfleet United F.C. in 1946 before changing its name to Ebbsfleet United in 2007.
- Alfreton Town F.C. created by the merger of Alfreton Miners Welfare and Alfreton United in 1959.
- Curzon Ashton F.C. created as Curzon Amateurs by the merger of Curzon Road F.C. and Asheton Amateurs F.C. in 1963, before changing its name to Curzon Ashton.
- Swanage Town & Herston F.C. created by the merger of Swanage Town F.C. and Herston Rovers F.C. in 1966.
- Ashford Town F.C. (Middlesex) absorbed Staines Youth Club F.C. in 1967[4].
- Camberley Town F.C. created by the merger of Camberley F.C. and Camberley Wanderers F.C. in 1967.
- Hamworthy United F.C. created by the merger of Hamworthy F.C. and Trinidad Old Boys F.C. in 1970.
- Glasshoughton Welfare A.F.C. created by the merger of Glasshoughton Colliery Welfare F.C. and Anson Sports F.C. in 1976[5].
- Haringey Borough F.C. created by the merger of Edmonton & Haringey F.C. and Wood Green Town F.C. in 1976.
- Easington Colliery A.F.C. created by the merger of Easington Colliery Welfare F.C. and Easington Rangers F.C. in 1980.
- Eccleshill United F.C. absorbed Phoenix Park in 1985[6].
- Croydon Athletic F.C. created as Wandsworth & Norwood F.C. by the merger of Wandworth F.C. and Norwood F.C. in 1986. It changed its name to Croydon Athletic in 1990.
- Stocksbridge Park Steels F.C. created by the merger of Stocksbridge Works F.C. and Oxley Park Sports F.C in 1986.
- Pershore Town 88 F.C. created by the merger of Pershore United, Pershore Recreation Rovers F.C. and Pershore Bullets F.C. in 1988.
- Arnold Town F.C. created by the merger of Arnold F.C. and Arnold Kingswell F.C. in 1989.
- Bemerton Heath Harlequins F.C. created by the merger of Bemerton Athletic F.C., Bemerton Boys F.C. and Moon F.C. in 1989.
- Feltham F.C. created as Feltham & Hounslow Borough F.C. by the merger of the original Feltham F.C. and Hounslow F.C. in 1990. It returned to the name Feltham in 1995.
1991 to 2000
[edit]- Alton Town F.C. created as Alton Town Bass F.C. by the merger of Bass (Alton) F.C. and Alton Town F.C. in 1991. It changed its name to Bass Alton Town in 1992 and to Alton Town in 1998.
- Broxbourne Borough V & E F.C. created as Somersett Ambury V & E F.C. by the merger of Somersett F.C. and Ambury F.C. in 1991. It changed its name to Broxbourne Borough V & E in 2002. Somersett F.C. had absorbed Cheshunt Rangers F.C. in 1982.
- Wingate & Finchley F.C. created by the merger of Wingate F.C. and Finchley F.C. in 1991.
- Barwell F.C. created by the merger of Hinckley F.C. and Barwell Athletic F.C. in 1992.
- Dagenham & Redbridge F.C. created by the merger of Dagenham F.C. and Redbridge Forest F.C. in 1992. Redbridge Forest F.C. itself was created by the merging of three separate clubs. Ilford F.C. and Leytonstone F.C. merged in 1979 to become Leytonstone & Ilford F.C. which then merged with Walthamstow Avenue F.C. in 1988 to become Redbridge Forest.
- Rushden & Diamonds F.C. created by the merger of Rushden Town F.C. and Irthlingborough Diamonds F.C. in 1992.
- Swindon Supermarine F.C. created by the merger of Swindon Athletic F.C. and Supermarine F.C. in 1992.
- Beaconsfield SYCOB F.C. created by the merger of Beaconsfield United F.C. and Slough Youth Centre Old Boys F.C. in 1994.
- A.F.C. Wallingford created by the merger of Wallingford Town F.C. and Wallingford United F.C. in 1995.
- Barton Town Old Boys F.C. created by the merger of Barton Town F.C. and Barton Old Boys F.C. in 1995.
- Raynes Park Vale F.C. created by the merger of Raynes Park F.C. and Malden Vale F.C. in 1995.
- Hinckley United F.C. created by the merger of Hinckley Town F.C. and Hinckley Athletic F.C. in 1997.
- Havant & Waterlooville F.C. created by the merger of Havant Town F.C. and Waterlooville F.C. in 1998. Havant Town F.C. was itself created as Havant & Leigh Park F.C. by the merger of the original Havant Town F.C. and Leigh Park in 1969, before being renamed Havant Town in 1982.
- A.F.C. Sudbury created by the merger of Sudbury Town F.C. and Sudbury Wanderers F.C. in 1999.
- Chobham F.C. created as Chobham & Ottershaw by the merger of the previous Chobham F.C. and Ottershaw F.C. in 1999. It changed its name to Chobham in 2004.[7].
- Dartmouth A.F.C. created by the merger of Dartmouth United F.C. and Dartmouth YMRC in 1999.
- Chichester City F.C. created as Chichester City United F.C. by the merger of the original Chichester City F.C. and Portfield F.C. in 2000, before dropping the "United from its name.
- Felixstowe & Walton United F.C. created by the merger of Felixstowe Port & Town F.C. and Walton United F.C. in 2000.
2001 to 2010

- St. Francis Rangers F.C. created by the merger of St. Francis F.C. and Ansty Rangers F.C. in 2002.
- Eastbourne United Association F.C. created by the merger of Eastbourne United F.C. and Shinewater Association F.C. in 2003.
- Barnoldswick Town F.C. created by the merger of Barnoldswick United and Barnoldswick Park Rovers in 2003.
- Ifield Edwards F.C. created by the merger of Ifield F.C. and Edwards Sports F.C in 2003.
- Tring Athletic F.C. absorbed Tring Town F.C. in 2003.
- Wokingham & Emmbrook F.C. created by the merger of Wokingham Town F.C. and Emmbrook Sports F.C. in 2004.
- Friar Lane & Epworth F.C. created by the merger of Friar Lane Old Boys F.C. and Epworth F.C. in 2004.

- Lincoln Moorlands Railway F.C. created by the merger of Lincoln Moorlands F.C. and Lincoln Railway F.C. in 2007.
