Professor Penguino's Laws

[edit]
  1. Be Kind. This one's kind of obvious, but how could I not put it here?
  2. Citations in the lede section won't end the world. Calm down.
  3. Following the rules of Wikipedia to the letter doesn’t work for every situation. Sometimes you need to bend the rules a bit. Except for WP:CIVILITY or WP:CV… those are too important.
  4. Be generous in your encouragement. Especially for new editors.
  5. Disregard anything a vandal says. They may insult you and mock you, but just remember that those are people who are spending their time vandalizing Wikipedia articles.
  6. You don’t have to know anything about a particular topic to edit its Wikipedia page. It’s better, obviously, but not required. I know a fair amount of history and edit lots of history, but I don’t know anything about video games. However, I can interpret what reliable sources on video games say, and summarize it accurately.
