Parameter	Description
1	Required. State; can use ISO 3166-2 codes with or without DE- prefix, e.g. DE-NI or NI for Lower Saxony
2	Optional. No. of championships; uses {{Rating}} template; shortens to {{Rating|1}}×2 if over 6
3	Optional. No. of East German championships; uses {{Rating}} template; shortens to {{Rating|1}}×3 if over 6
4	Optional. No. of cups; uses {{Rating}} template; shortens to {{Rating|1}}×4 if over 6
5	Optional. No. of East German cups; uses {{Rating}} template; shortens to {{Rating|1}}×5 if over 6
variant	Optional. Specifies the flag variant; defaults to football-specific flag if one exists, regular flag else
mvmt	Optional. Adds the {{PosChange}} template to the left of the state name
note	Optional. Adds {{Cref2|nb country code}} to the end of the template
share	Optional. Removes the top and bottom borders for shared positions
