The Maurice Lenell Cooky Company was a Chicagoland-based bakery founded in 1925 as Lenell Cookies by Swedish-American brothers Hans and Gunnar Lenell. The company was founded in 1937, named after Hans' son Erik Maurice Lenell. The longtime 4474 North Harlem facility in Norridge was opened in 1956. The facility had a factory store open to the public, called The Cookie Jar.
Lenell was perhaps most notable for its "pinwheel" cookie.
The owners of the Lenell brand decided to shut down in 2015, just a few years after acquiring the brand.
