DF Dane (David Dane) is a British oil painter whose work is internationally renowned for his images of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
David Dane has been painting over 40 years and has created more than 100 original artworks.
David Dane remains an active artist, living within the Norfolk Broads. His new work is exhibited biannually at the Norfolk Wildlife Centre on Ranworth Broad. The next exhibition is titled "Whispering Reeds" and will be held November 2011.
The Ranworth Exhibitions
[edit]DF Dane remains an active artist and exhibits new work bi-annually at the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Centre on Ranworth Broad, Norfolk.
These two week long exhibitions are visited by hundreds of enthusiasts. In 2009 acclaimed composer Patrick Hawes composed two new pieces of music to accompany David Dane's artwork (Remembrance / Ranworth), playing both pieces on piano at the exhibition.

David Dane has announced that the next Ranworth exhibition will be titled "Whispering Reeds" and will be held November 2011.
Rosenstiels of London
[edit]During the 1980's and 1990's a number of DF Dane paintings were put into print and sold worldwide by Rosenstiels of London. This project introduced the work of DF Dane to an global market. .
Subsequently DF Dane became one of the best selling artists in print in the UK. His most successful print, "Romantic Mill" sold in the hundreds of thousands. The artworks "Dusk" and "Dawn" were also best sellers.
Hunter Fleet of Yachts
[edit]David Dane first worked at the historic Hunter Fleet Boat Yard in Ludham, Norfolk, where he has stated his inspiration to start painting was realised.
In 1996 David Dane donated a large oil painting called "The First Sail of the Day" to assist in fund raising for the historic Hunter Fleet of Yachts. This donation raised in excess of £5,000 for the fund.
Biography
[edit]Aged 5 years old, David Dane moved to Norfolk almost 60 years ago with his mother and reed-thatcher step father, travelling on a train named The Broadsman.
He worked at the historic Hunter Fleet Boat Yard in Ludham, Norfolk, where he first had inspiration to start painting.
As well as a full time artist, David Dane is a committed environmentalist and has a long standing relationship with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
A biography of David Dane was published in 1989 in the now out of print "David Dane's Broadland".
