Tip the Planet is a free Creative Commons, collaborative wiki, and multilingual encyclopedia project dedicated to providing answers and spreading practical knowledge related to the environment. Their goal is to help provide inconvenient actions, rather than inconvenient truths.
History
[edit]Created in London, the project was built on a MediaWiki format by Social Entrepreneur Tom Savage.
By May 2010 the project had over 1000 articles, focused around the actions that could help individuals and organizations with tips that benefit the planet under a Creative Commons CC-BY-SA-3.0 license in order to facilitate content sharing with other projects like Wikipedia, and Appropedia.

[edit]Tip the Planet gives people solutions and practical knowledge in order to act in a more environmentally sound way. Tip the Planet is a wiki-based website (like Wikipedia) using MediaWiki. Ekopedia now licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY-SA-3.0.
Tip the Planet is developed mainly in English and is different to Wikipedia due to its environmental focus.
