Rian Strydom (2007–Present) is a Singer Songwriter and radio presenter known for His strong versatile vocal ability.

Biography

Rian was born in Port Elizabeth South Africa, and grew up on a farm 10km outside Parys in the Freestate.

Rian started singing at the tender age of 5 years old when his mom discovered that her son had a gift.

Growing up Rian set out to discover and challenge his voice. With the help of his vocal coaches and music teachers, he did just that. They started entering Rian for singing competitions and art festivals where he received numerous gold awards for his solo and duet performances and even won a few competitions.

In his high school years, Rian’s music teacher pushed him to new heights, seeing the potential in him, she helped him discover the colour in his voice and developed and enhanced his rich vocal range. It was also this time that he challenged himself yet again, this time by writing his own music.In 2012 he recorded his first single called Heimwee which received great feedback from the residents in and around the Eastern Cape. Heimwee is still going strong and is still one of the favorites among listeners of Radio stations in the Eastern Cape.

In 2015 Rian decided to give radio a go, and became one of the new radio presenters of an Afrikaans radio station in the Eastern Cape.

Rian also appeared on tv a few times. In 2018 he was chosen as one of the Top 24 in the VIA (DStv channel 147) and Coleske Arstists Die Kontrak season 1 and in 2020 he was chosen as one of the Top 48 contestants (Out of 8000 entries) in the popular tv program “Maak my Famous” season 2 hosted by Emo Adams on kykNET (DStv channel 144).

Rian has the ability to captivate audiences with his voice that speaks directly to the soul regardless of song choice. He is a very versatile artist that can sing almost anything, Rian is also known to yodel from time to time.
