The Macguffin Release group is a group of film encoders that specialize in MicroHD 720p+ encodes. Macguffin stricltly use the X264 codec which offers superior encoding quality whilst retaining all the bliss of a high definition film. Although the group is not around as long other groups are, Macguffin is considered to be the group that maneged to find the thin line between release size and encoding quality. It is important to note that whilst others use several avisynth filters in order to remove artifacts caused by low bitrates thus being able to release small size encodes, macguffin uses only the H264 algorithm that keeps the high bitrates without causeing damage to the film. Characteristics of the group are: punctuality in encoding quality and flow of releases, HD encoding/high bitrates, strictly non-scene compliant, not p2p.
