Hello! I only edit Wikipedia when I'm bored. At least, that's what I tell myself.
I frequently revert nonconstructive edits (including vandalism), update and add short descriptions to articles, work through the Articles for Creation backlog, and participate in patrolling new pages.
If you're here, I may have been too bold, so talk to me and I can probably take another look!
- Make sure Twinkle (WP:TW) is up and working.
- Revert the page, and warn the user in their talk page (WP:WARN).
- If needed, report the user (WP:AIV).
Adding short descriptions
[edit]- Make sure Shortdesc helper (WP:SDH) is up and working.
- Open Wikipedia's information page on short descriptions (WP:SDESC) and follow the guidelines – remember that no short description (WP:SDNONE) is perfectly okay sometimes!
- Optionally, use this automated report of short descriptions that match their article title, and fix them.
Reviewing Redirects for Creation
[edit]- Make sure the afcrc-helper script is up and working.
- Open Wikipedia's list of templates for redirect pages (WP:TMR).
- Optionally, use this automated report of large redirect pages, and fix them.
Reviewing Articles for Creation
[edit]- Make sure the Articles for Creation helper gadget (WP:AFCH) is up and working.
- Open Wikipedia's guidelines on notability (WP:N) and their subject specific variants.
- Open Wikipedia's guidelines on reviewing Articles for Creation (WP:AFCR).
Patrolling redirect pages
[edit]- Make sure the Page Curation Toolbar (WP:PCT) is up and working.
- Make sure Capricorn (WP:Capricorn) is up and working.
- Open Wikipedia's guidelines on reviewing redirects.
Patrolling article pages
[edit]- Make sure the Page Curation Toolbar (WP:PCT) is up and working.
- Open Wikipedia's guidelines on reviewing new pages (WP:NPPHOUR).
- Review any resources (WP:NPP/RES) for more detailed information, even for things only indirectly related to page patrolling.
Reviewing pending changes
[edit]- Open Wikipedia's guidelines on accepting edits.
- Make sure that you are actually viewing all edits – multiple edits (by the same user or not) could be made, and you might only be seeing the most recent one before the last approval.
- Check if the revision contains vandalism, copyright violations, or other obvious disruptive edits (as listed in the guidelines above). If not, just click "Accept revision".
