From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm one of those people who was inspired to sign up to Wiki due to the stupidity of others. When Wiki is vandalized it only hurts the credibility of the site as an encyclopedia. No one thinks it's funny, particularly not to the people who actually come to the site for INFORMATION. So, trolls, just stop. Is it really worth risking the integrity of a website so you can go "hehehe, look what I did" for about 3 seconds until the page is edited back or protected? If you want to post opinions, keep a blog like everyone else. It's not like more people will see something you post just because it's on Wiki...like I said, vandalism is usually taken care of quickly (assuming the site is well-trafficked). The fact that vandalism is usually well-monitored, though, shouldn't be a justification either. It is such a waste of everyone's time to have to go into a page and clean it up while it's being nominated/evaluated for protection. To what end? Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox eventually, just let me rant a bit further. Please, keep blogging to where it belongs - NOT in an encyclopedia.

Example: Ok...I don't like John Cena either. I think he's a marketing gimmick who might as well be a boxer for all the variety he provides to his matches. But seriously, when my bf (who is a huge wressling fan) is trying to see who has won matches at PPVs that we can't afford to order all the time and all he sees is "CENA IS GAY!" instead of the results, it's really annoying. Ok he's unpopular...we get it...move on. We'd just like to know who won the match, please, seeing as how Wiki is a site of INFORMATION and NOT A BLOG. Kehbrt 05:37, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
