Pa.Pu.Shri Nana Maharaj Taranekar - Shri chaitanyanand saraswati(श्री चैतन्य आनंद सरस्वती) (13 Aug 1896 – 16 Apr 1993) (Indore) was a great disciple of Lord Shri Dattatray and Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati alias Shri Tembe swami Maharaj. Born in Tarana (near Ujjain Madhya Pradesh) Nana Maharaj spent his whole life in doing bhakti of lord datta , Tirthayatra (Travelling god’s places) , inspiring and directing his disciples to bhakti maarg by means of naama-smaran(Chanting), bhajan(Singing and listening to the devotional songs), kirtan(Listening or explaning importance of god), pravachan(Listening vedant and stories of god ), Sharavan(Listening to the guru as well as spiritual and religious books). Shri Nana Maharaj was a Bhakta, Yogi, Dhyani and was consisting of all spiritual powers that runs and controls this universe. He is considered an avatar of Sant Shri Eknath maharaj and Shri Narsimha Saraswati maharaj of Karanja.

‘Martand Mahima’ is a biography (Charitra) of Shri.Nana Maharaj written by Shri.Vijay Paage, one of the disciples of Shri.Nana which consists of events in his life till 1970.

Gurukul niwas in Indore is Shri.Nana Maharaj`s home and place of value for all his disciples. There are 4 utsav taking place in an year namely : 1. Nana maharaj Punyatithi utsav 2. Guru pornima utsav 3. Nagpanchami- Nana maharaj jayanti utsav 4. Datta Jayanti utsav Other places related to his life are Indore, Tarana in M.P, Ganagapur in Karnataka, Nagpur and so on where different utsav are conducted all year round. One can visit these places any time of the year.

Dr.Babasaheb Taranekar, who is the grandson of Shri Nana Maharaj heads the ‘Akhil Bhartiya Tripdi Parivar’ which has more than 350 branches throughout India and abroad along with his younger brother Shri Sanjay Taranekar. Now, Dr.Babasaheb and Sou.Jayashri Taranekar are creating various literature of teachings of Shri Nana Maharaj and Shri Sanjay and Sou Chhaya Taranekar are looking towards the bhajan and utsav sewa all over , which is proving to be a very fruitful activity for disciples of Shri Nana Maharaj all over the globe.
