The User:Isaacl/script/toggle-discussion-threads-style script is used in conjunction with the User:Isaacl/style/discussion-threads user style sheet. With both installed, you can temporarily disable (and re-enable) the CSS style rules for discussion threads defined in User:Isaacl/style/discussion-threads.css via a menu item, "Toggle thread style" in the tools menu. Navigating to a new page or reloading the current page will re-enable the CSS style rules.
To install, you can use the script installer gadget, or add the following text to your common.js file:
