Matthew Timothy Healy[1] (born April 8, 1989)[2] professionally known as Matty Healy[3] is an English musician, best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band The 1975.[4]
Early life
[edit]Healy was born in Hendon, London on April 8, 1989 to actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy,[4][2] and grew up in Newcastle, Manchester and Cheshire.[6][7]
Career
[edit]Healy met bandmates Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann and George Daniel at Wilmslow High School in Wilmslow in 2002; as teenagers they played together.[8][9]
