The Hepatitis B Foundation (HBF), is the only national non-profit organization solely dedicated to the global problem of hepatitis B. The foundation is headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and was established in 1991.[1]
The organization was founded when Paul and Janine Witte and Dr. Timothy Block and his wife Joan, were deeply moved by the plight of a young family affected by hepatitis B.

With the personal support from Dr. [https://wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Baruch_Samuel_Blumberg&oldid=637379085 Baruch Samuel Blumberg] (Nobel Prize winner for his discovery of the Hepatitis B virus)[2], both the Wittes and the Blocks were able to establish the Hepatitis B Foundation.
