The bried history of my contact with the other party is:
- User:KI performed a unilateral rename of one of the articles I was working on. I don't like unilateral renames, in general, and I thought his particular choice of name was pushing a partisan POV. I tried to initiate a dialogue with him, about my concerns. Rather than replying in a serious, civil manner, he complained about me on the Administrator's Noticeboard, claiming I was harrassing him.
- I took the advice of one of the wikidocuments, and steered clear of him.
- Four days later KI nominated himself, for a second time, as a candidate for administrator. The guideline for candidates for administrators points out to them that anyone with whom they have an ongoing, unresolved dispute is entitled to raise that dispute in their candidacy forum. It suggests they try to resolve all their outstanding disputes prior to nominating themselves. KI didn't follow this advice.
- I asked questions about KI's decisions, in their candidacy forum. I believe I was civil and that all my questions were completely legitimate. Instead of replying KI demanded I remove the questions. Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/KI 2
- When KI's candidacy failed he filed the request for comment on my conduct -- preserved here -- User:Geo_Swan/RfC_2006-4-17.
I've briefly reviewed the positions I took nine months ago. And none of those positions leapt out as one I no longer hold. Any reader who is interested enough to read what I wrote during the RFA, or the RFC, can feel free to call on me to explain myself if they think I am not living up to the positions expressed there.

One thing I should have stated is that User:KI turned out to be a sockpuppet. Geo Swan (talk) 17:38, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
