Hiya! :) Welcome to my user page. This page lists various things about me and how or what I edit on Wikpedia, so I'd recommend reading all of it in order to get a grasp on how I do things here, or to learn more about me. If any guys or gals have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave them on my talk page. I'll do my best to respond as soon as I am able to. For more information about me, please check the "About me" section below, or the infobox on the right. :)

About me

[edit]

My name is Evelyn (or Evie), and I started editing Wikipedia on November 1, 2011. During my 13 years, 6 months and 6 days on Wikipedia, I have made over 8,900+ edits and counting as of October 22, 2024. I made my first edits on November 1, 2011, which were unfortunately really bad edits to the Government of Canada and Yahoo! Mail articles and I even tried creating an article about Acer Inc., even though an article about them already existed on the site at the time. Those were definitely not my best moments (especially the Acer Inc. article creation attempt, that was a real messed up moment for me), but I've really improved since then and now I consider myself to be pretty good at editing articles. There is still lots of room for me to improve, though.

My primary focus area at the moment is articles related to Apple Inc., primarily articles related to its iOS operating system, especially iOS version history, which needs a lot of work to bring it up to Wikipedia standards. For the longest time it had a heavy reliance on tables, but my main objective is to have it be written almost entirely in prose, in order to have it no longer even come close to violating WP:NOTCHANGELOG. This is a long term project for me, which I will hopefully have done within the next few months. However, my main goal is to make articles across the entire wiki better, not just articles sorely related to Apple, as there are a lot of articles all across Wikipedia that can be brought up to a much higher level of quality.

My editing interests

[edit]
  • Expanding articles, either by adding entirely new content, adding new sources, or improving old ones.
  • Correcting any grammatical errors users might've made after editing and publishing.
  • Correcting date formats, in case there are spots in articles where the same date format isn't universally used across the entire article.
  • Modifying templates whenever necessary, either to improve the functionality of said templates, or to simply fix bugs.
  • Uploading images whenever they might be needed.
  • Reviewing pending changes, to make sure that any edits that are incorrect, unsourced, or vandalism by IP address users or newly-registered users don't reach public-facing article revisions.
  • Using AutoWikiBrowser (AWB) wherever needed to fix typos, add templates, and various other sorts of cool things.
