Re: Hi there

[edit]

Yep yep, still making a constellation of FF music articles. The project's slowed some since that crazy summer when you guys made half of the game articles FAs, but we're slowly but surely putting little stars and green pluses next to everything on the list. --PresN 01:59, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Re:Interview

[edit]

Awesome, thanks! This certainly eliminates the part of the process where I have to try to find someone who's willing to be interviewed, and you're more than qualified to represent WPFF. I'm currently conducting an interview with Wrad. Once that one wraps up and gets published, I'll walk you through the interview process, which will probably happen between April 13 though April 24. Does that work for you? --Cryptic C62 · Talk 19:43, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Alright, the interview will take place here, although there's nothing substantial there yet. I'll post questions, you post answers, piece of cake. I'd like to get this done by April 19 for the next issue, but if it takes longer, that's fine too. If you're confused/can't think of a good answer/a question conflicts with your vegan beliefs, just leave me a note here, my talk page, the interview page, the interview talk page, or a billboard outside my dorm. --Cryptic C62 · Talk 21:59, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Wow. I'm an idiot. I just looked at your original message on my page - you wanted to discuss Final Fantasy, not Video Games. I've looked at the interview list and it seems we've already done Video Games, but we haven't done FF. *headdesk* I'll clear out the current interview and start over. Sorry about that. --Cryptic C62 · Talk 21:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Can you copyedit this article or tell me what needs to be done? It's up at FAC now, but Dabomb87 told me to ask you. There's almost no chance of it passing. Tezkag72 (talk) 13:09, 9 April 2009 (UTC) Sure enough, it failed, mostly because of that. Any suggestions? Tezkag72 (talk) 21:17, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Coheed

[edit]

Quit trying to slander Coheed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xasitchaine (talkcontribs) 22:39, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and Nirvana sucks!--Xasitchaine (talk) 22:50, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Your opinions are all fine and sweet and dandy, but not in a neutral point of view encyclopedia. Baseless accusations of slander constitute a personal attack violation. Excessive personal attacks will result in a block; as a matter of fact, one legal threat (such as an accusation of slander) often warrants an immediate block. However, as a sign of good faith, I have not reported you to a third-party admin. — Deckiller 23:32, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Big and bad, aren't you. Talking all like a robot and such. I wonder what you look like IRL. --Xasitchaine (talk) 21:11, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Spotted this. I remember that the date did appear in the episode. However, 24:Redemption was definitely set after 2007, (More like 2013-2017 from memory). What do you think should be done here. (I think it's possible it might have just been an error of the production team.) Steve Crossin Talk/24 04:12, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

RFA thanks

[edit]
My RFA passed today at 61/5/4. Thanks for participating in my RFA. I appreciate all the comments I received and will endeavor to justify the trust the WP community has placed in me. Have a nice day. :-) AdjustShift (talk) 21:29, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

RE:Admin suggestion

[edit]

Well, I'd be lying if I said I'm not even a little bit interested, but I don't think it's the best path for me right now. Unfortunately, I don't really have the time to edit like I'd prefer and try to spend most of my time on improving article quality. I appreciate the offer, but don't think I could handle the extra responsibilities right now. Thanks Deckiller. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:30, 11 April 2009 (UTC))

True, but I hardly deal with such things that it doesn't seems worth it. I feel stretched enough between writing articles and working with WP:VG. Extra tools means extra responsibilities, which I'm sure I'll feel obligated to use. (Guyinblack25 talk 23:38, 11 April 2009 (UTC))

I solved it your comments. Can you do me a favor and list EVERY issue you have? I can't read bad grammar thus I can't copyedit very well. Usually knowing what to fix makes it easier.Mitchazenia :  Chat  Trained for the pen 20:14, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you!

[edit]

Thanks for your participation in my recent Request for adminship. I don't know if you noticed me then, but I was the one who successfully nominated Megatokyo for TFA. :) I've been involved heavily in the comics project's GA drive as well, helping to get Spider-Man, Spider-Man: One More Day, Silver Age of Comic Books, Alex Raymond, Winnie Winkle, LGBT themes in comics, Hergé, and Pride & Joy (comics) promoted. I've also been doing the same for the Dungeons & Dragons project. Hope to see you around, happy editing! :) BOZ (talk) 04:05, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Thx for your kind words, DK! Tony (talk) 08:30, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey there

[edit]

Hi, I read your interview in the Signpost. I especially liked your answer to question #7 and totally agree with you.

Regarding the comment on your userpage introduction on how Wikipedia is like an MMORPG.. have you seen Wikipedia:Wikipedia is an MMORPG? Hilarious.

Have a great day. :)

AfD nomination of Ryan Krug

[edit]

I have nominated Ryan Krug, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ryan Krug. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Wizardman 18:35, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed you made a comment about your intentions of getting this article to FA one day. I currently have it on GA review right now and was wondering if you would like to look it over for any other changes it may need to pass. Thanks. DrNegative (talk) 13:40, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

VG articles

[edit]

Hey Deckiller. Just read your informative Signpost interview. I think one of the main challenges for writers of video game articles is the source material itself. I can't tell you how many times I've been reviewing VG FACs, reading over the source material to double check for accuracy, and wanting to stab my eyes out. Video game "journalism" is so shoddy, and I have a feeling that the level of writing there often informs the writing at the Wikipedia articles (whose authors demographically tend be younger, less experienced writers anyhow). One of my favorite reviews (just chock-full of examples of what not to do when writing) is here: http://pc.ign.com/articles/551/551118p1.html. Some choice phrases:

  • The lead! "Full Spectrum Warrior is a really good game. It's presented well, fun, looks good, sounds good, and has a good premise." Wow!
  • "Not only are the visuals of the actual game very nice, but the way the experience is presented is also well worthy of note."
  • "If you're on one side of a car and you'd like your guys to go on the other side of the car, it's pretty difficult to do that thanks because of the limitation of only being able to move to a place directly in the group you're trying to move's line of sight." Mrh?
  • "Still, the feel that you get while running your troops around can be an intense one." Intense feel!

And this is supposedly supposed to be one of the leading video game review sites out there? </ rant> Anyhow, this seems like a particularly difficult challenge. If your source material is horribly written, it inevitably seeps into your subconscious as you construct your own article. BuddingJournalist 08:18, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Mediation at WP:FICT

[edit]

I'm suggesting we ask for mediation to help build teh guidance at Wikipedia:Notability (fiction). What I propose is that a mediator be the only person to edit the project page itself and be the one to guide discussion and discern consensus. I've proposed it at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(fiction)#Mediation. As a past participant in the lengthy debates, I'd appreciate your input and hopefully your agreement.
