Don't respond...

[edit]

...to Giano's comment to you on the FAR. You can, of course, but I'd forget it.

To shift subjects to things less annoying, I've got Norte Chico to almost, nearly, ready for an FAC. If you'd like to look over it, I'd appreciate it. There's a lot involved—not least an academic dispute that strays into WP:BLP territory, which I've got to write up to fill-out the article. Marskell 20:45, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Somthing to do

[edit]

On hand I have FF7's official guide. In other places I have 8, 9, 10, 12, and the ones for the playstation ports of the old games. Have some idea in mind? Thanatosimii 03:26, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, like I said, I don't have much on me, but I can get looking at this stuff soon when I get ahold of my guides. Thanatosimii 16:41, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Infinite monkey theorem

[edit]

I've overhauled Infinite monkey theorem, so please revisit its FAR. Thanks! Melchoir 08:44, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Re:Vagrant Story

[edit]

Ah, it was my first attempt with rewriting the story section. After doing VS, I did FFXII, and found that my rewrite for FFXII was shorter than VS even though FFXII's plot was longer. I'm attempting a rewrite, though it'll take some time now that I'm facing my finals. Thanks for the pointers, though, and the compliment =) 私はBluerです 03:30, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar! I'll continue to do my very best! 私はBluerです 09:21, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for your support on my RfA. It passed with 55/0/0. I'll try my best to be worthy of the trust the community has put in me. If there are any of my actions you have a problem with or a question about, please feel free to discuss this with me and if needed to revert me. If there is anything else I can help you with (backlogs, comments, ...), you can always contact me on my talk page. Fram 14:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikibreak

[edit]

have a good one :)Quatreryukami 17:11, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

It's on FAC now; do you think it can pass? · AO Talk 00:54, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Koufax

[edit]

Heya. Have you finished a read over of Sandy Koufax? I read it and enjoyed it a few days ago, but not looking critically. Marskell 13:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

My FA

[edit]

I thought I wouldn't have a page as enjoyable as my first FA again, but this one has been top-notch. I'm going to take it to FAC soon (I have tentative contact with one of the sources, and am going to pass along a polished version, which will hopefully receive a response). You can comment on FAC, if unable to beforehand. Marskell 20:37, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

A second pair of eyes

[edit]

Can you take a look at Special:Contributions/Scumbag? This guy has a problem with OR, citations, and in-universe writing, and I could use a little help. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:40, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Steel359 (talk · contribs) blocked him, surprisingly. I really don't want a fight with this guy; he's writing the kind of thing I'd upvote on E2, but it just isn't what this project is about. :/ - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:51, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

People like him (though I've never run into someone quite like him) are the reason I don't write articles anymore. Forgive me if I'm being unnecessarily harsh. – Steel 20:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I've been tempted to go back to article writing on more than one occasion, not least because the constant moaning from people whose article I've deleted is starting to do my head in. Then I remember the joys of constantly reverting cruft and fanwank and that puts me off the idea. – Steel 21:02, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
There's nothing left to do in that project. Everything's already an FA thanks to you guys :)Steel 21:07, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
WP:DQ has a lot of work to do, and has been very receptive to the idea that proper articles are attributed. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 21:09, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to hazard a guess that DQ stands for Dragon Quest. Unfortunately, the only game in the series I've played is Dragon Warrior Monsters all those years ago, and I doubt there's enough material out there to FA the article. – Steel 21:15, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Final Fantasy

[edit]

I've played neither FFII nor FFXII. The older Final Fantasies have never been my thing, and I'm saving FFXII for when I have time to play it over Easter. – Steel 21:15, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Where's Ryu these days? – Steel 21:27, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Ah, yes. I think I remember him saying something about school starting. Hopefully we'll see him back in the summer. As for the Essjay thing... let's not get started on that. – Steel 22:07, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Which articles need writing? – Steel 22:10, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I'll have a browse around the Wikiproject page. – Steel 22:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Could you please restore California Dried Plum Festival ?

I found some references to it which would establish notability, such as http://sanjose.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2001/04/09/editorial2.html

Warnings

[edit]
"It's a waste of time to go through the entire chain for obvious vandals."

Not according to the admins who regularly delete reports from AIV because the user didn't get started off with a gentle warning. I don't want vandals seeing a warning that they will be blocked the next time they strike, and then learning that it's an empty threat. And I don't want vandals to learn too quickly that they can pretty much do whatever they like, so long as every time they tag a few pages they take a break before doing it again. If a vandal is going to be deterred by a warning, then a level 1 or 2 warning is appropriate; pretend to "assume good faith" while letting the vandal know that his work has been noticed and people don't like it. And if they don't stop, and you have to take it to AIV, the admins won't bite your head off - maybe. They'll still probably delete your report because the little bastard took a nap and isn't vandalising right at this moment, though. -- Zsero 03:16, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
