Rest lit

[edit]

We absolutely can't have a situation where, because there's shouting early on, a FAR gets dropped. This will go through the wringer like everything else. (Though I absolutely dread closing it.) I'll give it a day or two extra in the first section. Marskell 14:36, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Closing

[edit]

I'd rather not have others closing unless Joel and I are literally not editing for some reason. The problem is not that we can't trust you, of course, but that another third party might decide "well, if Deckiller is closing, I guess I can to" and then we'd have a problem. The main benefits of having one or two is that there is no warring over closures and closing rationales are consistent. And don't worry if things remain in a section sixteeen, rather than fourteen, days; it never hurts the article.

Now then, User:Avenue has done some more work on Margin of Error over the last two days. I'd like that one to go keep, if possible. Marskell 09:42, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for copyediting the wording. However, as I had noted in the FAR entry, what one might think is incorrect wording is not how someone else might see it. Hence, could you be able to look over the article's wording one more time and correct it if there still were problems? Personally, I like to get this FAR closed as soon as possible (mostly so that I can concentrate on other articles that I am currently maintaining, notably Boston). Thanks. [edit]

no problem. I'd like to start working on my page as soon as you get a chance. Most of the user boxes arent from scratch, i just put them in and modified them (hehehe) so i can get rid of them anytime. WHat would you like me to do? Quatreryukami 15:48, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

citation for the MSU article

[edit]

Michigan State University and John A. Hannah both have tags requesting citations for the bit about his resigning being due to student protest. It looks like a nobrainer for me (most likely in Heineman's Campus Wars), but since I don't have the book, I can't check. Would you mind looking into it? Having a {{fact}} tag in a FA does not look good. Circeus 01:58, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

[edit]

My request for adminship has closed successfully (79/0/1), so it appears that I am now an administrator. Thanks very much for your vote of confidence. If there's anything I can ever do to help, please don't hesitate to let me know. IrishGuy talk 02:44, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

RfA thanks

[edit]

Thank you for supporting my RfA. It was (47/0/0) upon closure and now phase I is complete. I think the tools will aid both me and the encyclopedia and I assure you I haven't burned out. My contributions spiked because it was school holidays and fell because school has resumed. I intend to keep contributing at ~600 edits per month except in times of pressure (ie exams). Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, or if you think I'm misbehaving I'm always open to recall. Thanks, James086Talk 12:47, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Catching up

[edit]

Hey; haven't been ignoring your messages, just have very limited and slow internet access due to travel, so can only do a bit each day. Yes, when the FAR room gets above a total of 36 articles, things get tough, but as long as it stays below 36 we're well able to work on each article. I guess I'm going to need to find time to do the notifications later today, since they haven't been done. So glad to have your help !! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:57, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

My correcting images has nothing to do with any edit wars, nor have I stated so. I'm merely following Wikipedia:Image use policy in regards to images that are violative of it... sources need to be found for images or "no source" tags placed on them. That is perfectly reasonable on my part.

The user in question is continuting to attack me in edit summaries and blank messages (and tags on the actual images), when all I have done on his talk page is guide him in the right direction in regards to the images with missing sources, and replying to any concerns in a pleasant manner.[1] How about you warn HIM for violating Wikipedia's policies on personal attacks and blanking perfectly reasonable tags from images which need them to meet Wikipedia's standards instead? - Deathrocker 21:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Why are you trying to suggest that I stop following official policy? ... I decided to correct the tags on the images, because I A) came across them B) have had similar problems with images I have uploaded in the past, and have been told by admins that this is what should be done and is standard.
Its policy. If you are an administrator, why are you suggesting that I stop helping Wikipedia in regards to possible copyright violation issues? Bots don't always do work such as this.... also, there is no excuse for personal attacks from him.... when all I did was ad perfectly correct tags to images, that is not a valid excuse for a user to attack another. - Deathrocker 21:42, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

1c

[edit]

You reckon if everyone votes Keep it'll be kept, even though 1c is at fault Tyler? Just curious as to your thoughts. LuciferMorgan 23:19, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I hope you're right as concerns the votes not being eligible without stating why the article doesn't fail 1c. While I've had my disputes with those people, I'm happy as anyone else to keep if it passed criterion 1c., and it does seem to be a heated room where the criteria is debated a lot. I think the page'll get a lot of activity in the coming days, and I sense a few keeps coming its way. I've made my vote though, and think I'm best leaving the page run its course now - Pandora's box as you say. LuciferMorgan 23:47, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

The Deathrocker situation

[edit]

You're a gentleman, Deckiller, but you're a relatively young gentleman, so I understand why you're not getting this. People lie. People do bad things and then they lie about them. Deathrocker is such a person. None of his recent actions are in the slightest bit of good faith. They all pertain to the admittedly ludicrous little edit war we've conducted over Template:Punkbox. To understand the root of what's gone on over the last 24 hours, you'll need to take a look at the edit history there. My indulging in that back-and-forth is not my proudest passage on Wikipedia, but at least I haven't brought it outside the editing and reverting of that one template. Before today, Deathrocker had already made this spiteful revert to B movie [2], this additional spiteful revert to B movie [3], this spiteful revert to The Jazz Singer (1927 film) [4], and these comments on the Punk rock talk page [5]. To verify the nature of Deathrocker's reverts to B movie and The Jazz Singer, you may note his utter lack of interest in those articles outside of reverting me and compare the timing of his actions there to activity on Template:Punkbox, which is the sole source of the situation. Deathrocker clearly took his recent extreme measures when Ceoil for the first time reverted him on the template and Deathrocker realized his cause there was lost. I'm sure you can also determine from the recent edit history that Deathrocker undoubtedly put my Talk page on his watchlist, which we might say is a very, very odd thing to do. There is no question that Deathrocker's tagging of the B movie images I've uploaded is in complete bad faith, and I'm not going to further expend my time or energy responding to his actions beyond this message to you. All the best, Dan.—DCGeist 09:22, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Understood. Thanks...and also for your direct email mesage concerning B movie, which I just got. Best, D.—DCGeist 21:51, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I think you didn't see Rise and Fall is a GA (it isn't in your list), so I thought I'd stop by and tell you. Nine now huh? Wow, you're a great article writer! · AO Talk 14:16, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome, and thank you. I think you gave me some invaluable tips, and that you should list it. · AO Talk 21:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes; I'm waiting for my friend to give it back (he's borrowing it), to write a multiplayer section (I've never played multiplayer). Without that, I don't think it's complete. · AO Talk 12:00, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Semi protection...

for Haim Saban and Power Rangers? I dont know how much vandalism warrants this, but the attacks from Super Sentai fans happen often. Quatreryukami 17:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Not a problem my friend; matter of fact, someone else did it that very day. Sorry I made you waste your time. Quatreryukami 19:46, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
