The Andrea Arena is a 20,000+ seat multi-purpose indoor arena located in Hollywood Boulevard. The arena is better known as a music venue as it hosts mostly musical concerts/events. It is the largest indoor arena in Los Angeles with the second biggest being Downtown L.A. Live's Staples Center which can hold up to 20,000 patrons.
Naming
[edit]After going through various names including, Hollywood Arena and Star Arena, the owners and operators agreed not to sell naming rights despite the high demand they received from naming rights-buyers, instead they decided to honor the Hollywood-born singer-songwriter, and actress, Danielle Andrea. They did so by naming the Arena, the Andrea Arena and later held a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard to confirm the details and certificate the singer.
Notable events
[edit]- The Arena opened it's doors on January 15, 2014 with six sold-out shows from the Eagles. The band will return four-years later on September 12, 14-15, 2018 adding three nights to their list of the performances, completing a total of nine shows in the Arena; and becoming the act with the most sold-out performances in the venue.
