Choklo is a derivation from a quechua word for maiz, which has diffused to spanish speakers of south america and, in fact, in many countries is more frequently used than the castellan word. I adopted this nickname for the love of this chosen heritage - maybe not in my blood, but certainly in my heart.

I am a chilean biologist living in Berlin, Germany.
