Roberto Vedovotto (born 30 September 1965) is an Italian businessman, founder and CEO of Kering Eyewear since 2014.

Biography

Vedovotto grew up in Bassano del Grappa, Northern Italy.[1] He holds a bachelor degree in economy from the Bocconi University (1989) and a master's degree in business administration from the London Business School (1994).[2] After his bachelor's degree, Vedovotto was a managing director at Morgan Stanley Asset Management.[3]

From 2002 to 2006, Vedovotto was CEO of the eyewear manufacturing company Safilo, which made its comeback on the Milan stock exchange in 2005 (delisted in 2001).[4] He left Safilo in November 2006 and became managing director and chairman of European luxury goods at Lehman Brothers,[2][5] and returned to lead Safilo as CEO from November 2008[4] to October 2013.[6]

In 2013, Vedovotto joined Kering to pilot the development of the luxury group's eyewear division[7] and launched Kering Eyewear the following year.[8] In March 2015, he became a member of Kering's executive committee.[9] Kering Eyewear acquired Lindberg in 2021 and Maui Jim in 2022, and made 1.5 billion euro in revenue in 2023.[10]
