General Information
[edit]This assignment is due April 20. More information on it is located here and here.
- Given that a theme of this course is information, how we get it, how we use it, we’ll all write a Wikipedia article, on a topic of your choice (although it should relate to the course in some way).
- It doesn’t have to be a new article. You may take a stub and expand it, or even an article rated as a "start" and improve it. You may also take a Wikipedia:RedLink article, and write that one.
- Your article must follow Wikipedia's Manual of Style, must meet notability requirements, and requirements for citation and neutral point of view. You must undergo at least one peer review, and a GA, A, or FA review. This assignment requires that you (1) create a Wikipedia profile (if you don’t already have one); (2) that you learn some wiki-markup language; and (3) that you immediately proceed to familiarize yourself with the Wikipedia world.
- Your Wikipedia article should sufficiently cover the subject, and should be no less than 50,000 bytes, and no more than 110,000 bytes.
- If you are new to Wikipedia, you might read this first-time user information.
