I am interested in philosophy, in general. My general ideas are as follows:
People are basically good but the institutions people create are inherently evil because institutions only survive if people don't mess with them. Therefore, every institution is always willing to sell itself out to the "lowest" bidder -- the person or group who desires and uses the power of the institution to keep the institution alive while benefiting himself/herself/themselves. Any person who realizes the institution is corrupt and attempts to modify or destroy the institution (any institution) is rejected and "killed". Unfortunately, the individual who does succeed in destroying an institution usually ends up starting another institution, more because he feels compelled to do so, than because of any real need for it.
All subjects are basically classifiable as language. Physics is the language of the objectness of the universe. Mathematics is the language of the finiteness of the universe. Music is the language of rhythmic expression. And so on.
There is no such thing as being wrong but there is very much such a thing as being a total moron. So, yes, the universe is largely subjective, but don't use that concept to be a "watcher" in the Buddhist sense of the word (Example: The world is always changing, so you negate the sense of change by saying that change is a constant, hence there is no such thing as change but only constancy). Otherwise, you will be just a moron -- perhaps a highly-educated moron, but, still, a complete, unmitigated ass.
Sanity has a low melting-point.
Orgasms are good.
Life is too depressing to be lived without fun and laughter.
Stop waiting for Godot. Beckett is dead. And he forgot to write the sequel. Thank goodness for Watt.
Jean-Paul Sartre, you old fart, you said hell is other people but conveniently forgot to say that heaven is other people too. Ask Simone if you don't believe me.
Anything that is not worth my time doing is not worth my time learning. But if I learn something I will surely do something with it -- even if I don't know that I have done anything.
Don't be afraid of death. It is about the only thing truly worth dying for.
Truthing is worse than lying. Truthing is when you purposely tell the truth about someone or something with the sole intention of creating chaos and damage. Only truly evil people indulge in truthing. Lying is like farting -- nobody admits it but everybody does it.
And, finally, don't try to make someone happy (including yourself). Just be happy. The happiness is already inside you. Just let it be, let it exist; don't kick it in the balls every time it tries to take control of all the misery in your life.
