Merlin Bobb has been a music and entertainment industry executive for over two decades.  

From working as a major record label executive, to founding his own entertainment and music consulting company, Roun’table Entertainment Inc. Merlin’s brilliant track record in discovering, marketing and managing talent in a diversity of genres, has made him well a well reputed figure throughout the industry Merlin rose to prominence during his tenure as VP at Atlantic Records. He then became SVP and co- founder of East/West Records Worldwide and later took on the position of EVP, Elektra Entertainment Group (both subsidiaries of Warner Music Group). He has signed and developed multi-million dollar selling entertainers such as Brandy, Missy Elliot, Fabulous, Envogue, Keith Sweat and Busta Rhymes, and has worked alongside multi-platinum selling producers such as Pharrel, Akon, Timbaland, Dr.Dre, Diddy and Wyclef Jean to name a few.

Merlin holds a degree in Architecture from New New Institute of Technology and is a NARAS voting member to the Grammy awards.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Zomba/Universal Music Publishing, Executive Consultant Music/Artist Branding. Responsible for creating and securing cross-branding opportunities, music licensing, corporate sponsorships, endorsements, creative marketing and major events for the Company roster of artist. The artist roster consists of the following artists, songwriters and producers: Justin Timerlake, Ne-Yo, Linkin Park, T-Pain, Shania Twain, Korn and others. A&R responsibilities consist of finding and securing new deals with artist, songwriters and producers. Attending A&R and creative company meetings and evaluating the current roster and deals.

Elektra Entertainment Group, Executive Vice President. Provided strategic leadership in creative management, marketing, sales, creative development, artist relations, packaging and branding. Headed A&R department and its roster making Elektra Entertainment one of the top labels in the music industry and profit and market share exceeded those of any prior years.

EastWest Records, Senior Vice President / Co-Founder Founding member; Launched one of the most successful labels of the early 1990’s; Key player in the development of the label as a leading pop/urban component of Warner Music Group. Within two years Warner Music Group was the #1 label for urban/pop music with EastWest.
