Mixing of templates

[edit]

The view, edit, and discuss links on this template still point to {{World's most populated metropolitan areas}}. ... discospinster talk 21:27, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As of August 1, 2008, with the geographical expansion, Hanoi, Vietnam, jumps from 167th position to 44th position with population of 6,232,94[1]. Mr Vinx (talk) 15:06, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A change in administrative boundaries does not automatically result in a change in urban area boundaries. The list this template follows is derived from a delineation method that ignores administrative boundaries and only looks at continuous urbanization. --Polaron | Talk 15:36, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How to define an urban area? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.99.154.198 (talk) 14:01, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I noticed that all of the metro area links are linked to the cities. Since we are listing urban areas, shouldn't the metro area be linked instead? Mathpianist93 (talk) 16:15, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ruhr Area

[edit]

Düsseldorf is not part of the Ruhr Area! Düsseldorf is situated on the Rhine, if you want to name a second city, you might consider Dortmund —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.241.165.87 (talk) 23:12, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discrepancy to list page

[edit]

There is a discrepancy between this template and the data in the List of urban areas by population as compiled by Demographia. Is there a reason for that or did it just run out of sync? If there are no objections, I'll update this template to match Demographia's 2012 data. Pandhii (talk) 21:58, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
