Suggestion

[edit]

Same reason as in the W-graphical template. There should be a comma after "Hello". - Eugene Krabs (talk) 03:34, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Add nosig option

[edit]

Can a "|nosig=true" option be added like with Template:W-basic?

Also, the message field ({{subst:w-screen|message}}) on this template does not seem to work. Thanks. -Fnlayson (talk) 16:15, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Broken?

[edit]

Hi, I used this template on a new user's page and the message function doesn't work, I double checked by using the template on my own user page with the "Wikipedia is better than Brittanica" message (your formatting) and still nothing. If it's of any relevance: Windows XP SP3, Firefox 4.0.1. CaptainScreebo Parley! 16:54, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry, didn't read all of the above post, apparently it's not been working for a long time. CaptainScreebo Parley! 17:45, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems this was never in the template, even though the documentation specified it (probably to do with adapting the template from something else). I've added it now. I don't think I've broken anything (I tested it in the sandbox). Rd232 talk 19:20, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Groovy, now that's what I call service, oh master of Wikicode. ;-) CaptainScreebo Parley! 20:35, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, though I think I'm more journeyman than master... :) Rd232 talk 22:26, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't follow the bouncing ball

[edit]

This is mostly an excellent welcome screen - but if it was on my talk page, I would get tired of that bouncing globe in about 5 seconds and delete it. RockMagnetist (talk) 03:47, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For those like me who don't want it to bounce, I created {{subst:W-screen-static}}. RockMagnetist (talk) 05:04, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
With no personal offence intended to its creator, that bouncing ball is one of the nastiest animations I have seen on the Internet for quite some time. It should not require a special parameter to hide it; it should be permanently and completely destroyed. 86.179.113.102 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:15, 11 April 2012 (UTC).[reply]
Replaced by static image. Good riddance ~ ToBeFree (talk) 03:32, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
