Template:OTRS talkTemplate:Ticket talk – Per the OTRS to VRT migration, we can no longer use the acronym "OTRS" for legal reasons. Other templates, such as {{OTRS ticket}} have already been moved. RM because this might be controversial, and tbh I don't really like the name "Ticket talk", feel free to suggest a better name. — Berrely • TalkContribs 09:24, 11 August 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. — Shibbolethink ( ) 11:14, 24 August 2021 (UTC) [reply]

I don't even know what is going on here — Berrely • TalkContribs 16:11, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think {{Ticket talk}} is fine. We can have shortcut redirects as we do for {{dab}}, {{cn}}, {{tlx}} and so on. Custom seems to be that template is at e.g. {{interlanguage link}} then shortcut at {{ill}}, and that's good because unfamiliar shortcuts can be quite cryptic. I just found {{r}} in an article, and I hav edited here for over ten years... slimilarly any subst template gets expanded, so one never ses the short form...85.67.32.244 (talk) 23:57, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
{{Ticket for discussion}} with shortcut {{tkfd}}. It's not in Template talk namespace so should not use "talk". 85.67.32.244 (talk) 00:22, 12 A—[1]ugust 2021 (UTC)

You keep replying to yourself in a seemingly contradictory manner. Could you please concisely state your point of view? ~~~~

Question: Why not "VRT talk" to keep the current naming format? ~~~~

  • What is going on? What is OTRS? Before April 2021, the team used the Open-source Ticket Request System ("OTRS"). What happened in April 2021? --SmokeyJoe (talk) 08:52, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Callanecc's probably needs to be a wider discussion than just this [as] the other OTRS templates should be named the same. This echoes the spirit of the hatnote at meta:Volunteer Response Team: OTRS has been renamed. Please...do not move the pages yourself. For more information, see the Phabricator task. The task itself (T280392) says (formatting original):

The official English name of the team is Volunteer Response Team (VRT), using the Volunteer Response Team Software (VRTS). This naming convention is meant to prevent future renames in case of other software or structural changes. There will be Naming Convention Guidelines written and published to provide direction for language communities. Please do not rename any pages independently[...]This work is being done in coordination with the Volunteer Response Team leaders over the course of the next several months.
