Merge proposal

[edit]

Other than a different image, colour, and other minor edits, Template:User Unified and Template:User unified login/userbox look basically the same. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 05:55, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

eh, WP:NOTPAPER. –xeno (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 20:58, 16 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]
The fact is that they have been made differently because people like different styles so they shouldn't be merged. The Quill (talk) 09:46, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Only difference between the two templates are the images used (File:Wikimedia-logo.svg vs. File:Wikimedia logo family.png) and the background color used (#E0E8EF vs. #F6F6F6). Can't both templates be merged and just allow extra parameters for customization? --Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 21:56, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Examples of the above:

I have merged the two templates by adding additional parameters: "border=" to customize the border color "background=" to customize background color , and "image=" to set a different image. This will allow the user to customize these minor details so that we don't have to have two separate templates. I'm creating a documentation subpage at Template:User unified login/userbox/doc to note on how to use this template and customize it if they wish. --Lightsup55 ( T | C ) 13:47, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just noticed this now, nice work! –xeno (talk) 15:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
