Template talk:User t
4 could still use some tightening or a smaller font, also, should 4, 5, and 6 add to category -c automatically? —Random8322007-01-24T23:42:57UTC(01/24 18:42EST)
LH Box Too Big
[edit]The left-box is too big, and the content doesn't appeal much to me. What about something like {{t4}}? It would still get the same point across, would be smaller, and a little more classy. --NThurston 20:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Please don't add 0-level category.
[edit]Please see the March 7 2007 UCfD: Wikipedia:User_categories_for_discussion#0-level_categories.2C_part_2_.26_3. Thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 00:37, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
nocat
[edit]This needs something akin to the way that |nocat=true
would work in a normal userbox. The code here looks complicated enough that I'm not sure just enabling that parameter would do much. The issue is that if someone puts a userbox like this in a user subpage and then transcludes it onto their main userpage and user talk page, all three pages will be categorized. nocat can be used, with simpler templates, to prevent categorization except on one page (e.g. by <includeonly>|nocat=true</includeonly>). — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 12:47, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Nest in another template
[edit]I want to nest this in Babel. I tried, but I discovered the secret proficiency level instead. How do I nest this template in another? MutantPlatypus (talk) 09:56, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
{{t|[[:Category:User template coder-{{{2}}}|{{{2}}}]]}} | This user is so bad with templates that they've even caused an error in this one. |
- Just put {{Babel|t-2}}, though if you're wondering how to do higher, see below —CodeHydro 16:40, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Using level 3 or higher in Babel
[edit]I'd tell you how, but I won't because I think of it as an initiation rite to figure out how on your own ;) Currently, up to User t-2 can be used on Babel using the standard Babel format, but, as you may have noticed User t-3 or higher do not exist currently. While it's easy enough to make them, I think it should stay that way so it is reserved for those who truly deserves to use them since it's possible already with some coding (just see my user page). I wonder if we should do something for fun like the following which would add you to Category:User template coders who passed the Babel initiation, producing a box with the added word "Babel" before "user" like:
{{t|3|c}} | This Babel user contributes to the template namespace with confidence, even with conditional templates. |
I can do it myself, but I'd like to see whether other people think this is meaningful. —CodeHydro 16:40, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
