I put it to you that "mit einem Muttersprachler vergleichbare Deutschkenntnisse" translates to "German language skills comparable to a native speaker", not the required "comparable to those of a native speaker". My present solution is somewhat tongue-in-cheek (correct, but pedantically contorted) dab (𒁳) 13:48, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And right after your change came this edit [1] by User:Nagy. The latter edit removed information from the template. Anyway, I would like to insert the sentence that the German Wikipedia uses currently:
Diese Person beherrscht Deutsch auf annähernd muttersprachlichem Niveau.
