Removing The Count

[edit]

I'm well aware that the toolserver is currently down; however, by removing the count link you make the template essentially the same as User_name (talk · contribs) (user). I've reverted it back as the current format is causing seriosuly conflicts with my external apps, and I'm sure is causing difficulties for others. I might note that, while the toolserver may be down for some time, as of right now the data is relatively current. If you decide to change the template back, please comment on my talk page after doing so, so that I can find an alternative solution. Thanks. AmiDaniel (Talk) 23:56, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note that the toolserver may be down for quite a long long time. So as time moves on the count link will be increasingly misleading. and it will eventually have to be removed. So why not use this meantime to improve your tool so it does not depend on having such link? -- ( drini's page ) 21:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm now reworking the tool(s) to use the {{user}} template and my own edit counter; however, until I can release v1.2 of VandalProof, any changes to this template will disable 181 people from using the tool. I understand that the toolserver will likely be down permanently and am very frustrated (as I'm sure many software/tool developers are) that no heads up was given that the en wikipedia would no longer replicate data to the toolserver (in fact, to this day very little has been / is being told to anyone by the devs). I appologize for the inconvenience; however, as the template will likely just be deleted (as there's no need for two identical templates), I don't see any hindrance to users by leaving the template as is for just a couple more weeks. AmiDaniel (Talk) 22:17, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I changed count to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Interiot/Tool2/code.js?username={{{1}}}. It should work. --Actown e 18:10, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now that the toolserver is somewhat back up, and still useful for seeing editing histories, how about having both Tool2 and the original? --Rory096 07:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me. Just please leave talk and contribs as the first items, in the same order, and with the same bullet points. AmiDaniel (talk) 10:38, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, but how to distinguish between the two? --Rory096 05:48, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WTF?

[edit]

The toolserver has been up and running for infinity, and now it gives me a 403 error when I try to find out my edit count :( ~ Flameviper 19:48, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All counts list?

[edit]

It would be helpful if someone would provide links to all the different counters? Thanks... ~ Flameviper 23:05, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It looks like whoever owned the soxred93 account on toolserver.org has had their account expire to inactivity... seems kind of stupid that it's not more decentralised but yeah:

403: User account expired

The page you requested is hosted by the Toolserver user soxred93, whose account has expired. Toolserver user accounts are automatically expired if the user is inactive for over six months. To prevent stale pages remaining accessible, we automatically block requests to expired content.

If you think you are receiving this page in error, or you have a question, please contact the owner of this document: soxred93 [at] toolserver [dot] org. (Please do not contact Toolserver administrators about this problem, as we cannot fix it—only the Toolserver account owner may renew their account.)

This was fixed here. thank you. Frietjes (talk) 21:49, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem glad to help :)
You should maybe consider maybe having important stuff like that which is used by multiple templates on some kind of shared "wikipedia" account so that it's not reliant on one person being around --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 15:16, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can't access my count?

[edit]

I cannot access my edits, please see below link and fix the problem.: [1] Thanks in advance. Jugni (talk) 07:40, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

why not use the link provided by the template, Jugni (talk · contribs · count)? Frietjes (talk) 16:24, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the link which I already knew, but why can't I view the details on toolserver link. --Jugni (talk) 11:55, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

the link you provided doesn't work. use the one that I provided, which is the one provided by the template. also, see the thread directly above this one. Frietjes (talk) 15:15, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit count

New edit count tool

[edit]

The user analysis tool has been updated and is located at [https://tools.wmflabs.org/supercount/index.php?user={{user}}&project=en.wikipedia]. Can somebody update the template coding to accomodate the modification? DiptanshuTalk 11:19, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
