Using template to link to the following year
[edit]Is {{#expr:{{title year}}+1}} (e.g. [1]) the most efficient way to automate links to succeeding years?
It may be worth creating a new template {{Title year+1}} / {{Title year next}}. – Fayenatic London 08:36, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Fayenatic london: I actually came here to check if someone had done this yet, so I've done basic versions of {{Title year+1}} and {{Title year-1}}. They don't pass through the parameters to {{Title year}}, I leave that as an exercise for the reader, but I'm not sure it's that necessary. Likewise, I thought about having a general {{Title year+}} template, but it seemed unnecessarily ugly given the likely use cases, dedicated ones seemed more readable to me. - @Fayenatic london: And whilst I was about it, I've created {{Title year2range}}, {{Title year2range+1}} and {{Title year2range-1}} which effectively convert the above into a range using the new {{Year2range}}, which should be useful for a lot of sport categories.
