The paraphyly of genus Australopithecus with respect to genus Homo (not the other way around) is actually a foregone conclusion. See e.g. [1][2] and [3]. Suggestions?

Whether or not this is the scientific consensus doesn't affect the placement of the genus Homo as currently defined. If there's a consensus in future to expand the circumscription of Homo to include species currently placed in Australopithecus, then the parent of Homo could change, I guess. We'll have to see. Add subtribe clade Hominina
