Saints only?
[edit]In addition to saints, I am planning to use this stub for articles about venerables and beatified people. Does anyone have a problem with this? --Eoghanacht 21:08, 2005 Jun 1 (UTC)
This stub does need another image (icon)
[edit]There is a saint-stub. It is used in many countries. And as you know the Christianity was divided about 1000 year ago. And the saint-stub uses the icon of Francisk from Assisi. But he is not a saint for some Churches. Therefore we need (in that stub) to use a saint that are accepted in all Churches. Then he must be from time before 1000. I suggest the Saint George. What do you say? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.25.120.81 (talk) 15:05, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
- I see your point. Personally I'd prefer the image that the portal, navbox, and (in a slightly different version) the project template use, namely: File:Gloriole blur.svg. That would be consistent, visually appealing (unlike rendering any face at a very low resolution), and neural (all major Churches use halos to represent saints, and a halo alone represents no particular saint; the visual tradition dates back to early Christianity). The lead image of the article Saint also features halos. That association is strong. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 01:44, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
