Looks good
[edit]This new template looks good, but I have a few observations/suggestions to help improve it.
- The template need to be within the {{aircontent}} box so the Aviation List is on bottom per Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft/page content guidelines. I haved moved the templates on about 6 pages, those that were on my watchlist.
- The box is a bit LARGE at this time. Combining short lines on a single line would help to reduce the size. ALso, putting the Wings in a separate template would help reduce the size, leaving this template to cover just aircraft. Squadrons could possibley be included with the wings to form a units template.
- Since when did the CF announce its intention to purchase the F-22??? There is no mention whatsoever of Canada on the F-22 page at all, tho I have not checked any external websites. I really don't see how this should be in the list at all, as Canda could probably only afford 2 or 3 F-22s anyway. Please cite a credible verifiable source here before adding it again. The other aircraft in the Future list are serilously being considered.
Good job overall. - BillCJ 21:51, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Past/Present/Future Aircraft
[edit]Forgive my confusion, but shouldn't the CH-148 be listed under future aircraft? And why is the CH-147 listed under future aircraft? I was going to make these changes (either moving or deleting CH-147, but I'm not absolutely certain of its current status), but I thought I'd check here first. --Craig (t|c) 02:07, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, the CH-148 should probably be under the Future section. As to the CH-147, I understand the CF has ordered them again, which is why it is listed as future. THis template isn't covering past aircraft, and shouldn't, as that would make it evne larger than it is already. I think one should be split into aircraft and unit templates anyway, as it's big enough as it is. Hope that helps! - BillCJ 02:46, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Bill. Thanks. I see you've made the change already. And despite the title of my post, I wasn't suggesting that past aircraft should be included, but it was just a reference to the CH-147 being a past aircraft. Kind of ironic though that it is both a past and future aircraft, but not present! --Craig (t|c) 11:57, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- I understood about the CH-147, but was just covering all my bases. And yes, it is ironic that it's a past AND future aircraft. Oh well, the vagaries of politics. - BillCJ 16:27, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Aircraft list
[edit]I would suggest reverting to the list with the current aircraft section. Seems the norm for other air force templates on wiki. The other template is not easy to read, as it includes past aircraft. 87.113.25.103 (talk) 21:34, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what other air force templates you mean, but most aren't set up this was at all. For example, Template:Royal Air Force has a completely different set-up. Also, the other template is designed to use the same format as the other new navboxes being implementsed for aircraft pages, thus it replaces this template on aircft pages. I don't believe that this template needs the aircraft list, as it is not going on aircraft pages. - BillCJ (talk) 22:56, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree with the first suggestion, including aircraft would make it consistent with the other templates for the CF (i.e. MARCOM and Land Force Command). 24.211.187.223 (talk) 20:44, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
This template should include the aircraft, otherwise its just a list of bases. Bmpower (talk) 13:57, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
