Category:Pages using Infobox NRHP in need of attention
[edit]Hi! Is Category:Pages using Infobox NRHP in need of attention still being used by this template? I am not seeing it anywhere in the code, but I may be missing something. If not, I plan to take it to CfD for deletion. If so, I plan to take it to CfD for merging with Category:NRHP infobox needing cleanup. HouseBlastertalk 21:03, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- The name of this category does not appear in any template code, so it should be safe to delete. It's not a great name, in any case. – Jonesey95 (talk) 02:26, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
- Did some WikiBlame searching, it was never in any version of this template (or its subpages). I think it can/should be G8'd. Primefac (talk) 14:31, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

For the "Location" field, please capitalize "bounded" (e.g., as in Fort Tryon Park: "bounded by 190th Street, Cabrini Boulevard[...]"), since it is the first word in the result. —DocWatson42 (talk) 11:47, 13 April 2024 (UTC) DocWatson42 (talk) 11:47, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Not done: That word is in the article, not in the template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 12:48, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, and thank you. ^_^ —DocWatson42 (talk) 02:34, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
Template improvement request for automatic categories with individually listed contributing properties
[edit]With individually listed contributing property articles, the automatic categories from this template are not ideal per this conversation:
- What I suggest should happen
- Placing nrhp_type2 = indcp in the infobox would automatically add the state level "Category:Individually listed contributing properties to historic districts on the National Register in Foo"
- This would match how "cp" automatically adds the article to the correct contributing property category by state
- What does happen
- Placing nrhp_type2 = indcp in the infobox automatically adds the less specific national Category:Individually listed contributing properties to historic districts on the National Register
- Workaround for now
- Add "nocat=yes" to the infobox
- Manually add the more specific state category.
Is it possible for a template editor to get the "indcp" flag to work more like the "cp" flag and produce the specific state categories? - RevelationDirect (talk) 15:16, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- Templates, and infoboxes in particular, should not really be adding cats other than maintenance categories to articles. I'm honestly not really sure why this template seems to have escaped this. The best option here will be to add in the categories to their relevant articles, which will allow for more appropriate cleanup as necessary. Primefac (talk) 20:38, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed. Conversion of this template to conform with WP:TEMPLATECAT is long overdue. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:16, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- If someone could go through and figure out what values trigger what cats (I don't really have time at the moment, but I'll see if I can manage if not) I can file a bot request to add the right cats to the pages directly so we can disable the template-provided cats. I do know based on the OP's comment that some will be incorrect, but it's a lot easier to fix when the cats are directly on the page. Primefac (talk) 14:09, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

Please add "address" as a parameter
[edit]Address is supported by several other building-related templates, such as Template:Infobox building and Template:Infobox shopping mall, but not this one. Please allow address to be included as a parameter pbp 00:19, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Handling a re-listed building
[edit]Just curious what the proper way to use the infobox for a relisted building; in this case, Weyerhaeuser Office Building was relisted in 2024 after it was renovated. I think a parameter similar to increasenum but for the relisted reference number, or a custom label that can override the "(increase)" note would be the best way forward. - How common is relisting? If there are just half a dozen sites, an embedded template using
|module=
is probably the way to go rather than building out more infrastructure within the template. I haven't tested it, but it should work. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:55, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
