Template talk:Expert
Broken link
[edit]The word "improve" in the "improve this page yourself" link was part of the URL instead of the displayed text. This caused the link to be broken and made the sentence make no sense. I don't know if I made the proper change, but the link is now rendering correctly and linking to the correct URL. Herorev 01:39, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Interwiki
[edit]Please add tr:Şablon:Uzman to the protected Template:Expert
Pinar 11:49, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Done. Please note that the /doc sub-page is unprotected so that users can add interwiki links, categories, and documentation changes like this themselves. --CBD 12:39, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Bold
[edit]Please put depreciated usage in Bold text to call attention to it. Use of this template fills up the expert request sorting list. Dhaluza 17:21, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind, I did it on the /doc page. Dhaluza 17:24, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
This template should be placed on the talk pages
[edit]I think that editorial comments like this should not be placed on the article page but on the talk page, after all discussion of editorial issues is why we have talk pages. (See Wikipedia talk:Template standardisation/article#Most maintenance templates should be placed on the talk page --Philip Baird Shearer 10:35, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Add date
[edit]Please allow the dating of templates, in a syntax similar to the cleanup tag. I'd be happy to help, if needed, although I lack admin access. MrZaiustalk 21:38, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Linkage of "WikiProject"
[edit]There ought to be a link around that term so that the list of projects is more readily available. {{editprotected}} -- Dextrose
- Done. By the way, please sign your comments. You can do this by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end. See Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages for more information. I know, there are a lot of rules, guidelines and customs around here … but you'll learn fast. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 07:06, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. That was bloody quick. And yeah, I keep forgetting to sign, but I'll try harder this time: Dextrose 07:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Editprotected request.
[edit]{{Editprotected}} Could someone please update the [[Image:Information-icon.svg]] to [[Image:Information.svg]]. Thanks! -Billy227 15:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Done. Cheers. --MZMcBride 18:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Proposed speedy deletion
[edit]I removed the speedy deletion tag because this template is still in use on article talk pages. Before it is deleted, all the existing transclusions should be converted to use Template:expert-subject. Personally, I'm perfectly happy to let people slap "expert needed" on an article without specifying a topic; that can actually be done automatically if absolutely necessary, via a bot. Unless there is consensus against that, I would actually recommend redirecting this template to Template:expert-subject and adding an appropriate default message to that template if no subject is specified. -- Beland (talk) 17:04, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'd actually intended to move {{expert-subject}} here, with appropriate support for not having a subject specified. In hindsight speedying it probably wasn't the best approach, but the end result should be the same. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 20:38, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hence why I chose to take on the thankless (and ongoing) job of clearing out this category - sadly, the WikiProject that should handle it is mostly inactive. On the plus side, the category went from ~1600 uses to just 34, and most of those are user subpages that I'm a bit hesitant to touch. I'd support Beland's suggestion, provided that {{expert-subject}} is modified first. 1ForTheMoney (talk) 19:51, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- Consider yourself graciously thanked for your work on this thankless task! :) I'll try to drive the actual template work myself at some point. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 10:51, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
