Question

[edit]

What does this template accomplish that Category:Varieties of English templates doesn't already do? Maybe I am missing something here. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 15:39, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's transcluded in the documentation pages. 76.66.195.159 (talk) 03:20, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yes. But that doesn't answer the question. Skeezix1000 (talk) 16:28, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style#When to use talk page language templates, which is about these templates. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:11, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing that Skeezix question (and mine) is not why the individual language templates exist, but why they are collected into a template themselves? What purpose does the collected template serve?Student7 (talk) 14:13, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ostensibly the purpose is to reduce maintenance costs of keeping seven different doc pages up to date, but to be honest we'd probably be better off just merging all the doc pages themselves. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 09:16, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flagless?

[edit]

Isn't there a flagless version of each of the English variant notices, such as {{US English}} when setting "flag=no"? If so, it would be worth mentioning. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 02:53, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
