Symbol update request

[edit]

I've noticed that Discord has officially changed their logo and symbol. And when I looked at this template, I realized this must be fixed.

So I decided to inform you all for this change and hopefully, I think it will work out.

I hope you accept this update request. :)

Hey, Doctorine Dark! Bit of a late response, but I noticed the same thing and found my way here.
I think we unfortunately need to keep the old icon () as it's considered public domain due to its simplicity. The new logo, however, is only being used under fair use (File:Discord logo.svg), so we can't really use it anywhere other than the Discord article. @Bsoyka and Doctorine Dark: I have created a file that looks similar to the new Discord logo, but with a simplified shape, an added monocle shape, and a circle in the Blurple color surrounding the other shapes, similar to a Discord avatar. I'm going to replace the old icon with this one, as I think this is closely styled enough to look like Discord's logo, while, to my knowledge, still not breaking any Wikipedia policies (such as Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria).  Xan ✨ talk 09:34, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am unsure how to make the topicon use an SVG rather than a PNG though... (I would like help with this, as it doesn't currently look like this is possible when using topicon as a base?)  Xan ✨ talk 09:58, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
