Width

[edit]

Hi, has someone considered changing the fixed widths, especially of the "Rider" column, perhaps making is smaller. The tables produced by these templates look really odd, because the of the wide Rider column. Perhaps it's size can be left unspecified and rather try and fix the D.O.B. column which has a predicable width. --Deon Steyn 13:13, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shirts in team lists

[edit]

Some of the pages showing this template are being altered to show shirts indicating tour wins. There is clearly no mandate for it here, and I can't find any other discussion establishing a consensus in favour. It seems to me to be contrary to the nature of a team listing (show the people, give an overview of age distribution and geographical spread of the squad); the achievements of individual cyclists are in their own articles. There is no key, so it is not helpful to non-specialist readers. There is no equivalent on team/squad lists for other teams: there are no little images of World Cup winners' medals on the Juventus F.C. and Italy national football team squad lists by Gianluigi Buffon's name. If there is an established consensus, please direct me to it: otherwise, do we have agreement that there is little benefit in them? Kevin McE (talk) 21:06, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the shirts do not belong there. --EdgeNavidad (talk) 11:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Width of "Date of birth" column

[edit]

Currently, the "Date of birth" column is too small (at least at my screen), and the text sometimes gets wrapped, for example "March 26, 1968 " on one line and "(age 40)" on the next line. For other dates, for example "June 2, 1969 (age 39)", the text fits on one line, and there is no wrapping. This gives a strange look on pages as Cervélo TestTeam: in the Team roster, both columns show 12 riders, but the left column is larger. Is there a smart way to solve this? --EdgeNavidad (talk) 11:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
