[edit]

Please remove the basketball aliases (two lines) because they link to the redirect page. The article is named U.S. Virgin Islands national basketball team.

Please fix link alias-football = United States Virgin Islands {{{mw|}}} national {{{mw|}}} soccer team
{{fbu|20|VIR}} →  U.S. Virgin Islands is not working properly. Maiō T. (talk) 21:58, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please copy the sandbox version to live. It's tested; all USVI national teams work correctly. Maiō T. (talk) 21:39, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rename:

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit template-protected}} template. Currently, I believe the consensus is from the WP:MOS, which (like with the Netherlands) says that we shouldn't be adding in the extra "the". Primefac (talk) 13:03, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Undotted "US Virgin Islands" as shortname alias?

[edit]

According to MOS:ABBR#Countries_and_multinational_unions, both US and U.S. could be used, but dotted and undotted should be avoided to be used together. For Democratic Republic of the Congo, undotted "DR Congo" is used as shortname alias. When both countries' shortnames are used in one article, now we would see "U.S. Virgin Islands" and "DR Congo". Should we use "US Virgin Islands" for consistency? Shingkei (talk) 13:15, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
