Template talk:Commons and category
Sometimes articles have commons articles and categories about them. This is to incorporate both... it may nee some fidding with such as a second parameter since some cats will probably be in plurals. gren グレン 00:10, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
That's good. Just please spell things out. Some people, when they see "cat" will at first think you mean the animal, and not category. I fixed that mistake for you.--Fox Mccloud 20:50, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Add a label?
[edit]Could a third field for a label please be added like: {{Commons+cat|Commons page|Commons category|label}}. The template uses the category name as the label, which may not be quite right in some cases. Similarly, the {{Commons}} template uses the second field for the label if present. Thanks. -Fnlayson (talk) 01:05, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Search
[edit]@Funandtrvl: Why did you add Special:Search to the category link? That makes the link a lot slower to load. Kaldari (talk) 17:10, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
- because Template:Commons and several other templates also use it. In case there isn't an exact pagename match, it'll solve that problem. Of course, if you know of a code that will produce the same effect, within less time, please let me know and I'll be glad to update the template. Funandtrvl (talk) 20:37, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
