Author citation format
[edit]The format of author names in citations is (largely) standardised to avoid name collisions and aid cross-referencing. The starting point is "last name, initials", although this may be modified to provide a unique name. Full first names may be seen in publications and abstracts, but not usually in formal citations. In the case of Floor van Leeuwen, the author name used in citations is "van Leeuwen, F.". That is why Citation Bot fills in that format, and that is why I changed it in this template. In a pinch, Citation Bot tends to come up with the right formatting for cite. In some rare cases, names are given in a different format: http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2019MNRAS.484.5350H, http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2010SSRv..151..209V, http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2008MNRAS.386.2115F.
