"Recent events" section
[edit]There are enough pages on topics related to the recent referendum that it should probably be grouped somehow. "Recent events" isn't a feasible long-term title, but until the situation develops I don't see any specific name that is reasonable to use. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:19, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
Independentist organizations
[edit]I removed Institut Nova Història again from the Independentist organizations section in the template. It clearly looks out of place, there. All organizations we are linking are political parties or organizations clearly linked to politics which are very relevant: Association of Municipalities for Independence (an organization grouping hundreds of municipalities from Catalonia), Committees for the Defense of the Republic (there are hundreds of them all over Catalonia) and Assemblea Nacional Catalana and Òmnium Cultural (both have dozens of thousands of members). In the other hand, INH not only has no membership but it didn't have any relevant paper in Catalan nationalism neither in Catalan independence movement history. I can think of dozens of organizations which are much more important than INH and are not displayed in the template: Plataforma pel Dret a Decidir, Sobirania i Progrés, Cercle Català de Negocis, Col·lectiu Wilson, Súmate, Sindicat d'Estudiants dels Països Catalans...
Until nobody can provide a neutral reference proving that INH had a relevant paper in Catalan nationalism, I think it must be removed, the template is already too long and it shouldn't be a full list of Catalan organizations but a summary of the most important ones. --Aljullu (talk) 18:22, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- INH made an important anthem for the "process" independepence movement, INH was openly supported by independentist politicians who several declared themselves convinced of it, INH is currently subsidied by the Catalan government since its beginning. A leading member of the INH is a national secretariat of the Catalan assembly since 2014, INH was awarded by a branch of ERC, Do you want reliable sources? many of them are in the talk-page of the INH and and other more important reliable sources on the issues that you say appears in the references of the article itself added by the neutral administrators, they are very reliable as also there direct sources, from for example the Catalan assembly website, ect. Do you want more than that? (answer my comment or would lead me to think that you accepted it and that I can revert it. thanks. review all that sources, of the article of INH and its talk page if required--ILoveCaracas (talk) 00:37, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
- And it does not matter nor is it relevant that the template is long, as long as the articles are necessary, there are many templates in English wikipedia that are longer today, and they are well--ILoveCaracas (talk) 01:03, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @ILoveCaracas:. Thanks for your input. I don't doubt about your good faith and that what you say is true, but still, none of your words explains what possible impact INH had in Catalan nationalism. I still can't see how it is more relevant than any other random Catalan organization or the ones I listed above. There are hundreds of organizations related to Catalonia, the Catalan language and Catalan history. Why would we add INH and not Institut d'Estudis Catalans? And what about Orfeó Català, Plataforma per la Llengua, Softcatalà, Serra d'Or, Abadia de Montserrat, Coordinadora de Colles Castelleres de Catalunya, Federació Sardanista de Catalunya and Federació Catalana de Futbol? Most of the ones I listed have received Creu de Sant Jordi awards from the Catalan government and have decades of history (INH was funded in 2007, if I'm not wrong), so they look much more relevant than IHN. No offense, but it looks to me like the only reason why somebody would like to add INH in the template is because it's an organization based on pseudo-history so it's a way to discredit Catalan nationalism. But Wikipedia editions shouldn't be based on our political ideology but on objective facts and as I said, INH is a very young organization, with no membership and without any relevant contribution to Catalan nationalism. --Aljullu (talk) 08:42, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
INH is relevant but with the rest i talk by myself i think you are right, there are more fundamental organizations for the movement, I will not continue contradicting this--ILoveCaracas (talk) 08:49, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
