- Good grief. You don't average them and express the result to the hundredth of a long ton (the nearest 22 lb or 10 kg). The range here is from 6691 to 6912 long tons (6801.5±110.5) light, and from 8803 to 9045 long tons (8924±121) full (just disregarding an obvious anomaly at 8315).
- Throw out the two smallest and the two largest and you have 17 left, 6805±65 long tons light and 8914±86 long tons light
- Were there any good reason for using this approximation, the numbers should be "6,800 long tons (6,900 t) light" and "8,900 long tons (9,000 t) full".
- But, since you actually have the figures here, you should be citing a source for them and putting the actual figures into each ships article, rather than this unnecessary fictional number.
